Wow! This place was really awesome to see. I work for a federal agency and is a member on our Civil Rights Committee and had the opportunity to go on a trip with about 15 others to Nicodemus. Not living in Kansas all my life I've only heard stories about the location and early settlement, but never had the chance to see if first hand. The staff was really nice and had tons of information to share. The interesting part was the tour and taken in the scenery of where it all began. This is a great place filled with historical facts!
It's worth the drive, wonderful staff. I could tell she really enjoys her job. And very educational. Just AMAZING!!!!!!!
I came across this place while driving the back roads: I was pleasantly surprised. It is very well kept, clean and relaxing. A beautiful place to stop, have a picnic and learn some American history. There are picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade.
Enjoyed speaking to the visitor center staff. Do some research before you go to enhance your visit.
Great history here, the ranger posted in the welcome center building was very knowledgeable, and on a nicer day, we would have loved to have done the walking tour. Instead, we had to be satisfied with driving around to have a look at the various historic buildings.
